"We loved our stay here. The staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful. We had a balcony room with a lovely view to the harbour. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only small issue we had was that the taps were a hard to turn on and off in our room. Great selection for breakfast and dinner."

"A lovely stay in Alnmouth for our mini moon, the room was so comfy and the staff super friendly. Such a dog friendly stay and the food options were great, particularly half price pizza and pasta before 5:30pm. Will definitely recommended the hope and anchor hotel to others. "

"Staff were really friendly but there was no property owned parking so had to park across the road in a public car park. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality linen. We were given a special access room on the ground floor but we were looking forward to a bath in the room which is what I thought we had booked but not a major issue but if you are booking you may want to make them aware if you want a bath rather than wet room. "

"I don't understand why the previous reviews were so negative. I've stayed in various hotels all over the world and this one was perfectly fine. Room was clean, bed comfy, bathroom clean and power shower worked great. Manager didn't speak great English, but once we got chatting, he turned out to be a really nice guy. "

"Lovely place. Room was spotlessly clean. Bathroom was modern & gleaming. Slight mix up over bed type was quickly sorted while we had a complimentary drink in the beer garden. The room had a nice view over grass onto the sea / estuary. The beds were so comfortable, I didn’t want to get up & pack to come home. "2 night break to get away from the normal weekend. Great location with pubs/food in walking distance. Rothbury and the surrounding area is beautiful, within easy reach of the coast. Swift S pod was great, just enough, didn’t need anything else."
