"Overall we had a comfortable stay with our dogs. Room was spacious with a fridge, ac, excellent shower and big comfortable bed. Although this is noted down as 4 star its probably more 3 star and hotel and grounds require some upgrading. Most disappointing for us was the outdoor pool which was dirty and not fit to swim in. Last year when we stayed the pool was very clean and inviting. We used the SPA inside this year which was good although very warm."

"Santillana del mar is a fantastic medieval town and the parador hotel is right in the heart of it, with a building matching the sUrroundings inside and out. We loved the rooms with balconies overlooking the coirtyard and huge shuttered windows. A wonderful place to explore on foot, and the nearby altamira caves.
