"I was very disappointed with a hotel that I’ve used many times previously. The room smelt of cigarette smoke (non smoking room), sexual lubricant found in a cupboard, batteries eroded in the remote, and to top it all a Christmas party on our last night, which kept us awake before our drive back to England. When I mentioned the smell of the room I was offered drinks tokens for the bar which buy you either larger or soft drinks. The staff didn’t seem too surprised with the lubricant or remote...

"It is in the grounds of a castle, you can walk around the grounds. he road to it can be easily missed but as it is in a small village you will not get lost. The hotel is new , the bed was a little too hard for my liking. I had to change room as the room was not made up but the staff sorted me out with a new room quickly. the top class restaurant next door in the chateau by the moat is was not open on the day i went but the hotel has a limited but very good food. "

"The Detmolder Hof is one of the best addresses when it comes to accommodation in Detmold. They have been around since… I don’t know when, but my grandfather used to take us there for dinner when we were visiting and even my parents celebrated their wedding there in 1972. "This is a really interesting hotel choice. It is in a small town, and the hotel itself is ok. But it has muliple amazing indoor and outdoor pool areas attached, and also a separate huge spa with 12+ suanas and steam rooms, and relaxation gardens that you can use. Added to that there is a forest next to the hotel full of walking and jogging trails. It is a mini resort that comes free with staying. Massage and flotation tank are available at an additional charge. "

"This is my hotel of choice when visiting Horn-Bad Meinberg. It hosts an excellent restaurant with a fantastic view over a park of lush mature trees, café and ice-cream parlour. As a SPA hotel, it is an excellent place to relax. Breakfast is excellent. As I don't speak German, it is disappointing that there aren't more channels in English. (only one or two business channels)"
