"Somehow bathroom keep smelling a bit this time. Overall this hotel(chain) is just awesome. It has a public bath on top of the floor with nice views and they can give you bottles of water anytime and led you umbrellas if it is rain. Staffs are very friendly, helpful, and kind."

"It's seen better days. Quality of the meals was disappointing. Room was spacious and clean but the property in general is tired and needs upgrading. It's a bit on the outskirts of the main part of Yamashiro Onsen but there's a bus stop across the street if you want to get into town. We took it to get to Yamanaka Onsen and to Kakusenkei Gorge."

"Nice hotel in a convenient location to tourist sites. Large rooms. Staff was helpful in making dinner reservations (a must if you hope to get in anywhere for dinner). Breakfast was a nice spread of Japanese and western. "

"An amazing place and experience. We had private indoor and outdoor onsen in the room and used it a few times as it was really convenient. Our hosts for the two nights, Natalie and Mizu, were extremely helpful and friendly. The meals, all in a private room, were excellent and gave us an authentic experience of Japanese breakfast and dinner cuisines. "

"Very disappointing. The food at a ryokan is at least half the value of the experience. I have been to many ryokans from budget to luxury and by far, the food here, was the worst. Tasteless and poorly prepared. Like it came from the fridge to perhaps the microwave in some cases and then to our table. August is not a popular time to visit this area so perhaps the chef was on vacation. The room itself was pleasant. The private outdoor bath was nice. The public bath facilities were fine.
