"We loved staying here. The location is perfect, right in the walkable middle of the medieval center of the city next to the college. Rooms were quaint, the food was good. Enjoyed the welcome glass of port when we arrived. My wife mentioned the showers were very hot and the water pressure was great. Enjoyed the stay very much. Only downside was parking, it was tricky to get close. They did indicate that in the welcome message ahead of check-in though. "

"Hotel in urban setting, easily located. Offers free underground security store. Dining facilities adequate, meals good. English well-spoken. Swimming pool was closed out of season, though we were not advised of this when we made the booking. "

"Palace Sao Silvestre is an easy 10min drive from the heart of Coimbra and it was an oasis to return to. This hotel is a very relaxing place to stay. Beautiful pool to cool down in or relax sitting by, picnic next to a vineyard, breakfast in the dining room or out on the patio and bar/dining on site; food & service were great. Loved that it is surrounded by lovely grounds available for use to guests. "

"This seems most like a conference hotel. Perfectly nice, nice breakfast, nice spa and workout room, where we had very nice massages, nice staff. While the canal ends at the hotel, it is not very scenic. If we hadn't needed a king bed, an elevator and a/c, we would have looked for something more traditional near the original canals. Also, we made the mistake of thinking a canal boat ride would take us past the striped boat houses, but it doesn't. (Poor research on our part.) They are in Costa...

"We felt we were quite literally staying in a palaces our room was superb, as were the hotel facilities, particularly the rooftop terrace and breakfast room. But it was the staff that truly shined brightest. There were — uniformly — the friendliest, most efficient, and responsive hotel staff we have ever encountered."

"Nice place to stay, new for me is the need for showier cap in pool, also couldn't get the Turkish steam bath to work and the Sauna wasn't included the cost fo the room..Disappointing, however the hotel otherwise was very good. "

"The staff went out of their way to make our stay amazing - our only regret was that we couldn’t stay another night! The restaurant served some of the best food we have ever eaten. The steak that my wife got was SO good that she asked to speak to the chef, just to tell him it was the best steak she had EVER had in her life! We NEVER do that!"
