"Stayed here for one night. Grounds are very pretty and hotel is based on the side of quite a steep hill so quite a lot of stairs and ramps. There are some lifts to parts of property but not all and they are in odd locations, for example one led to a pitch black banquet hall that you needed to pass through. "I had no idea what to expect when I got off the train at Joppolo. I was warmly welcomed, a nice well-equipped room, a pool, breakfast and lovely surroundings. An easy stroll to the few local bar-ristoranti and to the station (uphill). Be warned unless you have a car, the nearest shop for a few supplies is even further up the hill which is not ideal in 30°+ temperatures. The staff were amazing, despite little English (and me little Italian), offering to give a lift back to the station. "
