The reception staff is friendly and helpful, which was great to see.

One of the folded towels in the bathroom (which were supposed to be clean) had a gum or something stuck to it on the inside (so whoever folded them did not check them properly, or were reusing without checking). The light in the hall was difficult to turn off.

"The resort is very beautiful, located in the country, surrounded by hills and beautiful views of Turda Gorge in the distance and Salina Turda nearby. The design of the hotel, the grounds and the restaurant are very impressive. No detailed was overlooked. If you are a horse lover this hotel is a must.
The rooms are large, comfortable with well appointed bathrooms. We used the roof top pool and the the sauna every day we were at the resort. The views from the top were amazing.

"Room was clean however the temperature was unacceptable. Upon arrival, during the heat of the summer, the room was unbearably warm, as was the lobby and common areas. As the in-room air con is only operational when the key card power is enabled

"Escala is a great hotel. Small, with excellent service by owners Adrian and Claudia. What I especially liked is that they provided me with customized suggestions for what I might like to see in town, something that Google Maps or Claude would not have been able to do. I hope to return to Cluj and if so will certainly stay at Escala again."
