This is a great hotel for a family vacation! Lots to do in the area and there is a buffet for breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Our room was very clean and spacious. The front desk staff was very friendly when we checked in.

This is my 16th trip to Germany. The Torfhaus Resort rates as one of the best experiences that I have ever had. The location is perfect for hiking, biking, sightseeing or just relaxing. It is in the forest, but close to Altenau, Braunlage and other larger communities. The cottages are in excellent shape with the most modern appliances. Staff is very professional and always on duty. A beautiful renovated castle in the Hartz mountains. I chose the hotel for it's location. The staff were very nice, the room was small however was clean, the restaurant dinner was excellent, a large buffet breakfast.

The room was clean and confortable. It had a wonderful view of the mountains and of nature.
I highly recommend it. The staff was very helpful, I forgot a personal item, and they were kind enough to send it back right away.
