"The hotel is a little dated but in a convenient location across from the beach and about a 20 min walk to the old town. The staff is helpful and friendly. The reason that I rated it so low as my husband and I would wake up with insect bites that we first thought were mosquito bites because he had found a few mosquitoes in the room. After examining the bites we feared it was bed bugs so we stripped the beds down to the mattress and with the flashlights on our phones we discovered tiny bugs...

"our room was spacious and clean. bathroom (shower) was the same spacious and clean. breakfast has lots of choices and we loved that someone was making our coffee, has both hot and cold food. a/c was working. the location was also great: 5 minutes walking distance to the beach. and short drive to restaurants and centro storico. we also enjoyed the table tennis close to the pool. the hotel has mini market that was convenient. what we didn't like the hard bed and only 1 pillow for each of us. "The hotel is nice, but quite old. The room was certainly not worth the 4-star rating. The food was good but not exceptional. The staff were courteous, but, due to several different teams working there, some things were overlooked (for example I was not told that, on a specific evening, there would be no dinner before 8:30pm - to their credit the restaurant staff did make me a sandwich at 7:30pm, as I did not want to wait until 8:30pm to eat). "The hotel doesn’t feel four star until you get to your room which we liked . However there was noise from other rooms which could be easily heard . On our last night a large gathering of local people was hosted in a conference room and the music was thumping until 11.15 so it’s not just a hotel for tourists ! The bar staff were all excellent and so helpful . The reception staff were a bit ‘cool’. The shuttle bus into town is a great service. The small beach is nice and we used it twice "

It was raining a bit when we arrived but our room was comfortable (the bed could have been a little bit softer) with a balcony that had a great view of the pool, the sea and the castle for which the town is named. The hotel is well run, the self catering accommodation was lacking some essentials like a kettle and toaster and no frying pan even, very few utensils.
