"Lovely building and location - out of the busy but not too far! Nicely decorated and furnished albeit it does feel like a walk if you’re in one of the 400+ numbered rooms! Ate in the brasserie one evening food was good but the battered fish, whilst plentiful, was maybe a bit “soggy”. The breakfasts were excellent and if you don’t see anything you like then maybe best stay at home! Room was huge as was the comfy bed. A lot of new staff learning the ropes ahead of the peak season but can’t fault...

"Excellent and charming renovated period buildinh with very responsive communication before and during stay. 15min walk from train station and business terminus and 10min into town center. Beautiful and serene garden and patio. Quality of the rooms and amenities are high/new. ‘Kozy’ rooms are best for short stays as they are truly cozy, especially sinks in the bathroom. For long stays, chose a regular/double."

"Staff really professional, polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Dogs really welcomed and recieved lots of attention from staff...our garden room was lovely, good size, well equipped with a patio seating area. We are planning another trip to the lakes and will be booking Briery Wood again."
