"I enjoyed my stay at Porto Mare and highly recommend it. It is conveniently located in the area with many restaurants. The bus stop is in front of the hotel and you can hop on a bus to the centre of Funchal, or take a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery on your way. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful with all the information you need. "

"Hotel was lovely usually stay at the Porta Mare but tried Eden Mar so we could use kitchenette on our 2 week stay. Just as good room was very big & you still use all facilities. Would recommend, clean & service & bar area excellent "

"Immaculately kept residence in a very good area with excellent transport links into Funchal centre. Very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms are very comfortable, spacious and have great views. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the waiting staff were helpful and pleasant and the main pool and pool areas were spacious with plenty of sun beds available. Very enjoyable stay and we would love to return one day in the near future."

"Perfectly situated hotel as we enjoy a stroll into the centre,lots of buses if you prefer to ride.Lots of good eating places nearby.Hotel itself friendly and welcoming,clean in all areas and very spacious suite with balcony to sit in the sun.Excellent choices at breakfast buffet and staff filling things up as they get low and clearing tables efficiently.All in all a lucky find for our time in Funchal."
