"The hotel is in such a beautiful location with sweeping grounds running right down to Grasmere lake plenty of parking and close to buses running into Keswick, Ambleside and Bowness My only complaint was that the cooked breakfast on our first morning was a little cold but fine the next day. The dinner menu is superb!"

Our stay was still excellent and we were updated about the ongoing work. views from the terrace and room were amazing. "Arrived and there was a lovely man who greeted us in our car. Pointed us in the right direction. Check in was quick & easy & staff lovely & welcoming. Room was lovely. Bigger than we expected. Bed was so comfy! Breakfast was delicious. All fresh & hot & lots of choice! Unfortunately we were unable to get in either of the restaurants as they were fully booked. Booking online before you go is a must! Highly recommend & would definitely book again!"

"We had a 5 night stay in June and on arrival we were awarded a room upgrade. The suite 'Woodlands' was excellent and although across the yard, was no problem at all. Breakfasts were excellent with a great choice, including many fruits. Individual cooked items were well presented and tasty. We took 2 evening meals at the hotel and again the choice of meals on the menu and the quality was superb. Staff were very helpful, professional and courteous. The facilities including the lounge, bar, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and indoor and outdoor jacuzzis were all excellent All in all a superb stay and a place thoroughly recommended and one worth coming back to."

"It is a lovely property on a great location. It works like a well oiled machine until you ask for something out of the ordinary. Porridge made with normal milk was too challenging I felt. Yes they would be showing the England match - so we cancelled our booking elsewhere. Then they didn’t show it."
