There was zero housekeeping and when I needed items like toilet paper or a towel I had to find someone at the front desk - most of the time staff was no where to be found and the front desk was unattended. "We had a great stay at Valle Escondido. Our room was very clean and the view was great. We got to see a lot of wildlife right by the building we were in because the resort was less busy in the rainy season, and we got lucky with the weather. We really enjoyed our night hike on the trails on the property - only wish it were longer! Overall, a great stay. Food was good although variety is a bit limited in the off season."

"The hotel has the right kind of luxury for Monteverde, not flashy or high-tech, but everything is clean and nice, staff is helpful, the location is great and the place is beautiful. The sauna and the jacuzzi are GREAT, and we had monkeys crossing the trees above us while we relaxed there; the food is delicious. We loved our stay!"
