"Firstly the staff werent aware of the reply to the email you sent. It looked really tired inside and out. The carpets were worn or stained. The bar carpet was rucked up. We ordered coffees and got called to the bar to collect them, whereas normally they would be brought to the table. My wife asked for vegan sausage and a runny egg, as all the eggs brought out were firm. The sausages were under cooked and the egg again was firm. We were very disapointed. "We love this hotel, a few very small things could make a big difference. The hot breakfast is often cold and evening menu needs to be more varied to include traditional fare. The spa facilities are fantastic an overal great stay"

"Hotel in a great location but google maps not helpful so use the hotel instructions. 5 mins walk to the colleges and lots of places to eat nearby. Room good but you could hear others talking adjoining room. Nice facilties in room and staff helpful. Did not eat there so can't comment. Staff helpful and valet parking a bonus."

"Lovely rest stop. Nice to have a private chalet away from the pub and noise. Continental breakfast was amazing which was included. Upgrade to full English for £10.50. My husband said it was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to Audley End which is why we chose it. "

"Very comfortable, spacious room and friendly, helpful staff. Great central location. Breakfast was very good but though I’d suggest they change is their breakfast bacon supplier - it was fatty and greasy. I’ve stayed at The Angel a few times now and each time it has been a very pleasurable experience."
