"The hotel is the perfect central location for the city and everything is within walking distance. Wonderful front desk staff who managed to answer all my questions! I loved the rooms and the view from the room and the amazingly soft bed. Nice glass shower with good pressure too. The breakfast buffet area has an amazing view -- it is so cool to see all the snow capped Alps around you. The buffet was very good, with super alpine ham too!"

"We loved the traditional nature of the property and of course its position in relation to the lake. It is really handy for everything and the views off the balcony are excellent. I enjoyed a nice swim although it is just a pool for relaxation really and not large enough for proper swimming. Hot tub with a view lovely though. Breakfast was really good with lots of variety. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evenings as we wanted to explore the town, so can’t comment on food more generally....

"The hotel was immediately off of the highway, so really convenient to get to. It is relatively quiet, very clean and reasonably comfortable. WiFi was great and there is ample parking on site. There is a restaurant in the hotel (I did not dine there) and the drive to other options is very close. I would not hesitate to stay there again. "

"Kompas is a big hotel that gets bus loads of foreign tourists but nice rooms and an all you can eat breakfast buffet. It is right in Granska Gora and so it’s easy to walk around the little town. "

"This hotel is a real gem. We had a beautiful suite with a gorgeous view of the lake. We never had dinner in the restaurant but breakfast was fantastic - lots of options and all delicious. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We also each had a Triglav Massage which was amazing. It’s a short walk down to the lake (though it’s uphill on the way back) - approx. 30min walk by the lake into town. We really enjoyed our stay here. "

"The hotel is right at the heart of the city Villach. It has a special charm as the building is historic, but all facilities and rooms are brought up to standard and met our expectations. At 8:30am in the morning you will hear the church bell (two strikes to announce the half hour) as it is custom in many of the mid-town hotels in Austria. "Great location near the train station. Ample parking if you need to park a car. Housekeeping kept the room clean daily. Bed was too soft, not good for my back. Aircon didn’t work properly when I was there."
