"Maybe my favorite hotel stay ever. Beautiful historic house in the old center walking distance from train station, market, museums etc. Incredibly kind and helpful staff. Wonderful food and delightful bar. Our room was truly special (and there was housekeeping every day!). Not a good choice if you can't manage very steep narrow winding stairs (which add to the charm) but otherwise wonderful in every way. "

"Everything in good condition except there was no Internet service inside our room. In the absence, my broadband subscription was fully consumed even before our stay ended requiring me to top up a few days from arriving in Europe. "

What would be called the 'norm' at Van Der Valk hotels could be easily regarded as luxury in the UK except at realistic, affordable and value for money prices. This property feels a flagship."
