The Abernethy Round Tower. This is one of only two surviving examples of this sort of Tower, built in the Irish medieval style in Scotland. It is unusual as Abernethy was in the heart of the Pictish Kingdom.

"You go to the restaurant/bar next door to check in. Good food but a bit strange to go to the other building first. Place was definitely not a five star, but once we got past the initial shock it turned out to be good for the price. No microwave or refrigerator. I would definitely stay there again to save money.
