"Language barrier between ourselves and the host nothing a translation app couldn’t help with and she was ever so patient! Apartment was lovely and spacious, not too far of a walk from the beachfront with restaurants. Hidden €1.50 tourist tax per guest per night- but couldn’t go wrong with the pricing overall especially with some complementary breakfast.."

"I tried booking here twice - once when I flew in and again when I flew out of Catania. Big mistake. Both times the booking was automatically accepted only to be later cancelled. The first time it was cancelled with a couple of days notice (due to a double booking) so we were able to find another accommodation no problem. But the second time it was cancelled within 3 hrs of our check-in time and ONLY after I contacted VRBO customer service because my message to the host had gone completely...

"The house was more rustic than expected, and it would have been nice to know a caretaker liver on site. Not a problem, but it would have been nice to know. View of Mt. Etna was stunning, and the pool was maintained well. Surrounding area was a bit intimidating, and the entrance gates took some work. But overall, a nice place and very attentive hosts."

Une place de parking à l intérieure , un jardin à l ombre avec salon de jardin, table et barbecue. Au-dessus de la maison une grande terrasse avec salon de jardin très ensoleillée. "Property very tastefully furnished, friendly hosts (who speak very little English). OK for 2 people, would be a bit tight for 4. Major issues with swimming pool (out of action for 5 of our 14 days), with water pressure (20 mins for shower to warm up and then only a dribble), extremely loud and frequently barking dog. Although located in a side street it is adjacent to a major road - plenty of traffic noise during the day. Location convenient for Etna and the sites on the east side of the island."

"A great property in very easy reach of Mt Etna, Taormina, Catania (40 mins from each), and Milazzo. There is also a lovely beach just 10mins away. The neighbourhood is a bit a non-descript, but it is a lovely property, quiet, with a lovely "temporary" pool which is a perfect way to relax at the end of the day. Francesco the host was great throughout the stay. Highly recommended as a base for visits around Etna."

"Casa D’aria is a quaint and lovely place for a vacation set in an ideal location in Catania. The eclectic style of the entire building is so interesting and homey. We had excellent communication with the owners leading up to our check in. The room was massive! With the comfiest bed tucked up on a loft. We made use of the full kitchenette and our room even had a washer to do our laundry. The rooftop communal terrace was a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and listen to the sounds of Catania....
