I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was extremely disappointing.
Before arrival, I specifically requested a quiet room, as I was in Addis on a demanding professional mission and needed proper rest. I was initially shown a larger room facing the main road, which I declined due to the traffic noise. I clearly stated that room size did not matter, only that the room be quiet. I was then told Room 204 was among the quietest available.
Unfortunately, the room was far from quiet. Throughout the night, there was constant traffic noise, including heavy trucks passing continuously. The windows appeared to have very poor sound insulation, making sleep almost impossible. Despite earplugs and sleeping medication, I barely slept.
At around 4 a.m., after another sleepless night, the receptioni came to the room and acknowledged the noise level herself. I ultimately had no choice but to leave early and book another hotel, despite still having two prepaid nights remaining.
There was also a safety issue involving a damaged drawer under the safe with exposed sharp nails. Management later attempted to claim this damage occurred during my stay, despite it clearly being pre existing.
Management also later denied there had been a noise issue and claimed there was an unpaid breakfast charge, despite the fact that I was given a final bill at checkout with no pending charges.
Overall, both the stay itself and the handling of legitimate concerns afterward reflected poorly on the property.
