"Half of the hotel is closed for renovations, and the other half should have been. One of the reasons I booked it was for the balcony, except it was closed for repairs! None of this was revealed on the website. Also the rear parking lot that serves the half still open has only two handicap spaces."

Maple Leaf Inn - Lake Placid

"Not an Inn, it’s a motel. "Contactless" like it’s a good thing. No one there. No diagram of where rooms are; Keypad lock only, no secondary lock at door, had to call multiple times as the provided codes did not work, finally had to use the master code which was uncomfortable as how many other people had that also? First room smelled like an ashtray, the booking service was able to get me another room. Heater/fan unit bad smell; No towel bar at sink; no closet, hooks or place to hang clothes; no doormat to wipe feet upon entering; no dresser; no chair other than a folding metal chair at the desk; lighting is excessively bright (desk lamp is fine); no exhaust fan in bathroom. No drapes, just a window shade, so no natural light unless shade is open to the parking lot. Not soundproofed, sounds from other rooms loud and clear - bed squeaking/talking."
