"We loved our 6-night stay at this beautiful property on the slopes of Mt. Etna. This was the relaxation segment of a larger road trip around Southern Italy. Gabriela and Alfio were such welcoming guests, arranging pickups at the airport for some family who flew in to join us, offering baked goods and making available produce, eggs, wine, and other homemade products from the property. The absolute highlight was an excursion up the volcano, including a delicious picnic complete with tablecloth...expertly led and prepared by Alfio. The house, Il Palmento, is wonderfully quirky and felt authentically "Sicilian." There are a lot of stairs so it might not be ideal with someone with mobility issues. Daytrips to other towns on the eastern coast are easily planned, or just hanging out in the beautiful outside seating areas. We were even able to take a plunge in the pool in mid-October which was delightful and refreshing. Altogether it was a delightful stay - I hope to go back some day!"

"The location was idyllic and the view stunning! Ernesto greeted us with olive oil, grapes from his vineyard, cheese, meats, bread, olives water and his delicious wine from his private stock. What a lovely eay to be introduced to the Etna area. Ernesto was very responsive to all our requests -a gracious host! Highly recommend!"

"This property was a great find for exploring Mount Etna. The room was basic but clean and soon soon felt like home after emptying your suitcase! Travelling with two teenage boys, we had a quadruple room and a view of Mount Etna from our balcony. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had dinner on the roof top terrace and the food was excellent! We stayed for three nights and also ate at another excellent pizzeria 5 minutes walk away. Parking is limited but we always found a space opposite the hotel. This hotel is a great base for exploring Mount Etna. "

"The property was beautiful and service was very good. Whilst accepting that it was unusually hot summer, the air conditioner was ineffective and did not provide any relief making it impossible to sleep in the night. "

"This hotel is perfect as a base to explore the eastern side of the island, conveniently located between Mount Etna and the sea. The hotel is lovely - clean and modern with everything you need including a pool. It is a family run business, and they could not have been more lovely - nothing was too much trouble. Our flight was delayed and we had problems picking up the hire car, but they waited up to check us in at 1am! The breakfast buffet was ample with lots of fresh fruit and freshly baked pastries/cakes and omelettes from their own hens. You can order dinner at the hotel at an extra cost, but all lovingly prepared and we had the best tiramisu on the holiday! Would definitely recommend!"
