"A peaceful hotel owned by the sweetest family. Our room had a private balcony and gorgeous views of the sea. The property is approx 200 meters outside the small village with a private beach but the owners will pick you up at the ferry or at the exit from the Samaria gorge if you coordinate ahead of time. "We visited Balito with a family of 7 and had the most wonderful stay. The hotel is small but updated and it is run by a wonderful family who makes you feel at home. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast and coffee is perfect in the morning. The rooms were good for our large family (we had two rooms with 3 beds each) and the area is very walkable. It’s about a 14 min walk to the beach (with my slower children) and a 10 min taxi into Chania. There is also a bus to take you to town and some of the other beaches that stops nearby but we didn’t do it because of elders in our group. There is a taverna around the corner that was amazing. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and will be back again if we return to Crete. "

"Lovely, boutique sized hotel. Good sized rooms & bathroom. Comfortable fairly private balcony. Breakfast has a variety of choice. There’s a bar and option to get snacks. Short walk to a lively town with lots of restaurants, bars & shops. Approximately 10 minute easy walk to sandy beaches. Have stayed here 5 times and certainly would book again."
