"Comfortable and clean."

"On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was was bigger than expected and had a balcony with stunning views of distant mountains. Our son loved his bunk bed with integrated light and USB charger. There was a separate toilet and shower room but no bath. We also missed tea and coffee making facilties though were able to borrow an iron. The lodge was in a great location for our summer exploring and we look forward to returning one day."

Hotel le Grand Chalet

"We had a fantastic time here. The staff went above and beyond, and the on-site restaurant was a real highlight — genuinely excellent food and service that made the trip. The views are spectacular and worth the visit on their own. A couple of practical notes for future guests. The hot tub runs cooler than what we're used to in the US — I'd estimate around 90–95°F — so if you like it piping hot, just set your expectations accordingly. It's still lovely, just more of a warm soak than a hot one. Also, it's a bit of a walk from the train station. That was totally manageable in summer, but I'm honestly not sure how it would go in snow. If you're visiting in winter, I'd check with the property beforehand about whether they run a shuttle — worth verifying before you book. Internet was usable for email, did not try a video call. None of this took away from a truly great stay. We'd happily return."

"The hotel makes for a decent budget option. The rooms are a bit small but with the bunk bed so sleep four. If you have more than two large pieces of luggage space will be tight. The beds and pillows were on the hard side for our personal tastes but we sleept ok. It was rather warm during our stay, over 27 degrees C. We kept the windows open and, while the staff provided a fan, it was still warmer than we were comfortable with. Four bodies in that room generated quite a bit of heat. If you're on a budget and need to be close to the lake and/or town, this is not a bad option."

"This hotel went beyond expectations! The staff was so nice and the hotel was spectacular. From fancy dining to enjoying a nice sauna session. The rooms felt homey and were so comfortable and the wood work was amazing, along with fancy room amenities. The view from my room was beautiful and the town is quiet. "
