"Doune Braes is very close to the Callanish standing stones, which makes it a super convenient location if the stones are on your itinerary! Everyone working at Doune Braes was extremely kind and helpful and the food (I had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. It is not a fancy accommodation, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and safe. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lewis and want to see the Callanish stones, particularly at sunrise or sunset!"

"This is just an extraordinary place. Have some reluctance to represent it accurately, lest crowds descend and keep me from enjoying a repeat visit. Yet I do suspect that the standard set here, by this owner, of clear, cordial communication and comprehensively thoughtful service, is quite rare indeed.
