We were in Hagi on the first hot day of the year, and the AC was fast, effective and a lifesaver - in both living and sleeping areas. The location was ideal - walking distance to the core sights and a 5-minute walk to the central welcoming center and an electric bike rental, which was key on a hot day for zipping around the atmospheric streets. "I had inquired about a vegetarian breakfast option through Expedia messages, but never received a reply. I had booked a room with breakfast, so I was concerned. The hotel staff was very attentive and contacted the chef to arrange a vegetarian breakfast. The food was delicious but sparse. The wait staff asked how our breakfast was and made adjustments for the next day’s breakfast. Completely different breakfast and more substantial. The public bath amenities were nice, clean and not crowded. The hotel is right on the beach with beautiful views. It was also very easy to get a taxi from the hotel, front desk can make the call and was only a 5 minute wait ."

"This was our first experience staying at a Hoshino Resorts property, and we arrived with high expectations. Our experience fully lived up to them. Many staff members spoke a good level of English, which added warmth and enjoyment to our stay. The front desk was also especially helpful with arranging bookings during the Japanese national holidays, Golden Week. We look forward to trying other Hoshino Resorts properties in the future."

"the staff is very nice; but the hotel is kind of out dated, the wall in the room is fixed but didn't apply paint on it; but at least it is clean; all the rooms are located on 2nd floor and the hotel don't have elevator and we have to carry our luggages up and down; really hope they will renovate in the near future"

"We greatly enjoyed staying here. Everything was excellent: the room, the food, the staff, the onsen. Staff were particularly helpful, providing information about visiting potters and taking care of sending our luggage. Hagi was a lovely city with much to see and do. And the sakura were in full bloom everywhere!"

"The property was located in the heart of the town. There were lots of grocery and dining options within walking distance. The beach was a short drive away too. We were able to drive to many scenic places like Akiyoshido Cave and the quasi national park from there. The house was spacious and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet other than during the elementary school’s break time when little children could be heard playing. The house was also well stocked, though I wish there could’ve been soup/ rice bowls, a kitchen scissors and a rice cooker. I was also slightly confused by the check in procedure but thankfully the Rakuten team responded soon enough to help us with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant 1 week stay and we enjoyed the place very much. "
