"The location is on the edge of a quiet village and with only subtle sounds of frogs from the pond and whinnies from the horse it was bliss. This was our 2nd stay and would love to come back again. Transport is required to access local shops but the ride out is so lovely it isnt a worry. We stayed for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and found it a good base to stay for the events. "A friend and I have just spent a long weekend at Le Batison. The property is situated in a nice village, is clean and well equipped and provides for a very comfortable stay. A short drive ( c 2 miles ) takes you into Brionne where you will find the usual shops including a Carrefour supermarket. We travelled to Normandy for a cycling break and found the neighboring countryside very enjoyable cycling territory."

"Nous sommes 4 amis (2 femmes, 2 hommes) et nous voulions visiter de petits villages du Perche et de la région de l'Aigle. Le charmant petit village de la Gonfrière offrait une situation idéale. L'ancien presbytère comporte au moins quatre chambres individuelles et de nombreuses toilettes. "After not thinking we would be able to holiday due to Covid this was the perfect relaxing retreat. Everything was as we had expected. The log cabin was well equipped and comfortable. The gifts on arrival ( goats cheese , apple juice, jam and cider ) were all lovely and a nice touch. Roaming chickens and cats were an added delight with some eggs given to us in the week. Perfect break."

"We had a wonderful holiday. The location is in idilic countryside and farmland. There are sheep, cows and pigs all close by. We liked our visits to nearby Conches and Everaux. We were very happy to make a trip to Paris from here in order to see the Olympic football. Our son loved the pool which was kept beautifully. What a wonderful holiday. Thank you."

"We were given a very personal and friendly welcome by the hosts, who explained details of the house to us. The house is very well equipped and spacious, especially since we were only two people! The house is well placed to visit this part of Normandy and the hosts were able to give good advice. This would suit many different groups of people. Un grand merci aux Cheneys pour un tres agréable séjour."
