"The pool and hot tub were disgustingly dirty. In our bathroom, the towels were stocked on the counter to where you had a very, very small area to be able to put any kind of toiletries on the counter, there was nowhere to hang your towels because the towel hanger was in fact missing, the shower pressure was awful because you couldn’t fully pull the plug up to make it just shower the tub sprayed water while you’re trying to take a shower so it took away that pressure. You were also unable to use the bathtub because there was no plug for the drain. We asked for two extra pillows and were told we could only have one. I would call us at one and done type of hotel."

"Upon arrival into TPA, the shuttle bus was requested using a courtesy phone in the airport (as it was late). It arrived quickly and was easy to find. The hotel check in was quick and efficient and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean, large and quiet, even though the hotel was so close to the airport and full of a travelling teenage football team! Upon checkout I was able to use the pool area (small but efficient) and they held my luggage for me. The hotel exterior could do with an upgrade but for a convenient night near TPA this is an excellent choice"

"Where do I start……I booked a suite & also a separate room for family. I specifically requested the extra room to be 2 queens. When we got to the hotel at 4:30, the extra room had been changed to just a king and wasn’t even ready. That started the experience on the wrong foot. We had to wait for the 2nd room to be ready & had to keep insisting that we wanted 2 queens. After finally getting to our rooms, we all decided to head to the downstairs bar to meet for cocktails & appetizers. Several people requested Pina Coladas & were told that the bar could not make them because their blender was broken & had been for a while. The food was less than appetizing that we ordered & ended up not eating it. Every time we ran the water or flushed the toilet in our suite, the plumbing banged so loud in the wall that it was ridiculous! The next day, housekeeping didn’t even have our room cleaned & it was 4:30 in the afternoon. We had to complain & when they finally sent someone up to the room, it was done half-a#$(*with no extra towels that we requested. Horrible experience. They don’t even have a coffee shop in the hotel. The best part of the whole trip was the valet staff & bellhops! They were awesome! Don’t waste your time on this “Grand Hyatt”. A total disappointment. We’ll find somewhere else to stay from now on. Horrible experience."

"This place is very affordable but disgusting. I booked this hotel for my wife and myself for 3 nights since it's within a mile of Raymond James and we were attending back to back shows there on Saturday and Sunday night. I checked in on a Friday, walked into our room, and checked out 15 minutes later because neither one of us could breathe without coughing and sneezing.The AC was blowing a mixture of dust and mold all over the room, the carpet floor was nasty, the whole room smelled musty with a faint cigarette smell, and everything metal in the room was rusty. The bathroom wasn't any better and there were no amenities in the room. I asked the clerk if there were any newer rooms and he said they were all the same, so I asked to check out. We didnt sit on the beds or disrupt anything in the room. He was polite and said we would get 2 nights refunded but might get just a partial refund for checking into the room, but would check with the manager the next day about getting a whole refund for that Friday. Out of $423 we were refunded $264. We found a room at the Holiday Inn about 3 miles away and paid more for it, especially last minute. Expedia was no help in getting us another place or applying any discounts. But it was our decision to leave so I get it. If you’re the type who reads reviews and values cleanliness, you'll want to pass on this place. Otherwise enjoy your nasty smelling room and have have fun finding all the crawling things that come out after dark."
