"Nice hotel. Room was clean, sheets clean, bathroom was clean unlike some reviews have noted. Excellent buffet breakfast that starts at 530am. Walking distance to museum and luxor temple. On the promenade. As mentioned by others, you can't walk out of the property without getting hassled but that is a problem in Luxor anywhere you go! You can't walk down the promenade in peace!"

"Just checked out of the Old Winter Palace, a quietly dignified landmark built in 1886 for British aristocrats wintering in Luxor. Its faded grandeur still lingers—shaded colonnades, clipped gardens, and that peculiar hush found only in places touched by history. Howard Carter was staying here when news broke of Tutankhamun’s tomb; the echoes of that moment still seem to drift through the high shutters and marble halls. A retreat not of excess, but of atmosphere."

"This hotel is centrally located just minutes away from Luxor Temple and adjacent to the town market for souvenir shopping. Breakfast is served on the roof, but after that it turns into a full restaurant which also provides excellent lunch and dinner options. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were very well maintained. The only item small negative was that the rooms are pretty small (especially relative to the size of the bed), which makes it difficult to move around and open up luggage. But this is a just a minor inconvenience and should in no way affect your decision to stay here."

"This was a magnificent hotel. Tucked out of the way in the quiet rural part of the West Bank. The staff were super sweet and attentive and nothing was too much to ask. The room was gorgeous with heaps of character, you felt every bit of furniture had a story to tell. The food was the best we ate on our 2 week trip of Egypt, high quality and classy yet not ridiculously expensive. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone!"
