Hotel closed but nobody told us

Find out the hotel had closed the day we tried to check in. Had to scramble to find new accommodations. No one called or emailed to tell us hotel had closed. Ridiculous.

Lack of courtesy

We made a reservation in October 2017 and nobody told us that the hotel has been closed. After driving for five hours, we found out, late at night, on a freezing winter day, that there is no place for us to stay. Thanks to the wonderful staff from Orbitz, we were able to get a room at the nearby Hampton Inn.

Unfortunately this hotel closed last month and I was not notified. I actually received a confirmation of my reservation a few days before my intended stay - when I arrived for my stay on Christmas night I learned that the hotel had closed.

Worst hotel I've stayed in

It was a terrible experience. As a Travel Agent who has stayed in hotels from 3 Stars to 5 Stars I've never had a stay as unviting as this hotel. I was part of a group so we booked about 5-6 rooms. To start, the card the get into our rooms didn't work, the maintence guy had to escort us to our rooms and let us in manually, the entire just had a gloomy setting, there were no wash clothes in the rooms, we were told there were no clean ones so we had to call the second day to get some. Venting machines weren't working, hotel shuttle wasn't working so we had to keep calling ubers. BreKfast was just done wrapped sandwiches which I passed on. We were told there was an issue with the kitchen. Lobby and breakfast area was cold...no heat

My stay was ok, though I was constantly harassed by little flies in my room. I killed about 15 of them for my 3 day stay. I do not know where they were coming from. Otherwise this hotel is ok, pretty quiet and close to interstate highway.

Don't stay here

When I arrived at the first room that I was given I was surprised to find the door ajar. When I went in the lights were on, the bed was rumpled and the toilet was running as if someone had just flushed and exited the room. I went back to the front desk and alerted them and was assigned a new room. In the new room, the fitted sheet did not seem to fit and was raised up on one side. Strings were hanging out of the mattress and the fabric covering on the side of the mattress appeared loose. As I pulled on it I discovered that it was not sewn down or secured to the mattress at all and that the springs of the mattress were visible and protruding. When I went to shower in the morning I found that the shampoo bottle was only half full, as if I had been given the left overs from another patron.

Not well maintained, not clean. Carpet was torn, rooms extremely small, no exhaust fan in bathroom. On site bar/restaurant closed, yet still shows on website. Just not a nice hotel.

Was expecting better for BW.

Was expecting better.... I booked this BW primarily for the indoor pool and location. Indoor pool was out of service. Had no view from the window in my room. Window blocked most the way up and had little natural light. Did not get our wake up call the next day. Requested a quiet room away from noise and traffic....got a room with loud humming in the morning. Not sure what that was. Did not feel like a BW brand to me. Disappointed. Would go with a cheaper hotel next time.

I reserved a room with 2 queen beds for 2 adult 2 children and my room was changed to a 1 queen bed with a cot. The CSR was nice to put us in a king bed but it was still not what I reserved!

Don't let the pictures fool you.

Advertised pool but when we arrived pool was closed for the two days we were there. Pictures show clean and nice looking hotel. The hotel is dingy. Went to take showers and there werent any wash cloths. They brought us the floor mat cloths and said "we are really f-ing up" Didn't stay the 2nd day.

Close to Cityline Grill.

Went to see a morning shows live broadcast. Everything was fine. Nothing fancy, had a fridge and Microwave. For the price it was a great value. Staff were all very friendly and polite. The pool is older but clean. The shower had plenty of hot water.

Not as nice as it used to be

I visit Albany twice a year and have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. I have always found it comfortable and convenient, but my most recent stay was disappointing. The WiFi did not always work. I stayed there seven nights, and the housekeepers did not seem to come every day, not even to empty the trash. Twice I had to call the front desk for basics like toilet paper, tissues, and a wash cloth. Also, the breakfast was better in the past, but this time there were no eggs or hot food. The coffee was good, though. I have always liked the convenient location of this hotel - close to the interstate, stores, and restaurants - but I think I will look for a different hotel for my next stay.
