"We felt that the owners were not enthusiastic hosts. We were not shown half the facilities shown on the website, jut our room and the breakfast room. The breakfasts were average to poor (a dreadful poached egg ruined the smoked salmon it was served with). The TV in our room did not work, the picture was pixellated on all channels.."

"The Barleycorn is situated in the middle of a village, and it was lovely to listen to the wood pigeons burbling/cooing through the window. The rooms are not above the pub, but behind, and consequently quiet; ours was nicely furnished and the bed/mattress comfy. The owners are enthusiastic and welcoming. The main disadvantage to the location concerns traffic, such as Macdonald's lorries, that seems to race along the road: it makes finding somewhere to safely walk the dogs a little...

"Beautiful little place, Ideally located near to shops,pubs,restaurants,etc. The flat is small but just right for a couple with perhaps one child It was clean throughout and well equipped with wahing machine, fridge,Microwave and cooker. The only tging we would say it needs are slightly better heaters, although they do just about heat tje propert to a bearable temp"

"Very comfortable beds, but seating in room was poor. No facilities in room. TV was communal in small communal dining area. Bathroom was down corridor from bedroom. Bedroom had no lock when leaving it. Communal kitchen had very limited crockery or cutlery. Eating options in Pewsey are limited. Breakfast was excellent. Owner friendly and helpful."

Decor looked like a war zone once you left the dining area, and the hotel was left totally unmanned overnight to the point when I called the telephone number in the morning just to check out and get my car which was blocked in the car park. I was told no-one was there, they’d be there between 8-9 (even though breakfast was due to start at 7 and dining area / reception was all locked up and in the dark)! After them suggesting I knock on room 18 and ask that resident to move their van so...
