"This is a lovely hotel that feels luxurious and has the most beautiful views of the ocean. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is to die for. So much delicious food to choose from! The rooms are spacious and have everything needed. They are also very quiet and dark, ensuring a good night's sleep. Children loved the two swimming pools. The only, very minor, note is that some of the decor had small nicks, rips and scratches that you wouldn't expect to see in such a nice hotel, but this in no way detracts from the overall lovely experience. "

"Everything about it was absolutely great. Our unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. The outside facilities as the pools, hot tub were perfect. The private garden couldn't be emphasized enough. What a privilege to stroll through your private forest, so well kept with a river running through it, absolutely magical. The owners are great, very helpful, attentive and super friendly. We will recommend Canto's to anyone we know coming to Sao Miguel."

"Great location - peaceful, tranquil and walkable to the town. Rooms are a little old and could use some upgrades, but was comfortable. They offer towels for going to the thermal pools. Breakfast was standard continental."
