Rustic family retreat in the Allier Gorges, nature and hiking nearby

South of the Haute-Loire and on the edge of Lozère is the village of Alleyras. It is in the small hamlet of Pourcheresse, which overlooks the Gorges du Haut-Allier, that you will find the gîte of Joëlle and Alain: "Le Tourtet".

This stone house, renovated, while keeping a traditional style, is ideal for meeting up with family or friends. You will appreciate the calm environment, the surrounding countryside and the magnificent view of Le Mont Devès.

You can enjoy an interior courtyard with a pergola for convivial meals on the terrace as well as a ping-pong table that will entertain young and old.

From the gîte: many hiking trails including the GR470 which passes through Pourcheresse, the town of Alleyras with grocery store, restaurant, drinks/ice cream break and its weekly market in July/August, mountain bike trails, Vélo Rail, horse riding, river for fishing enthusiasts, white water sports (canoeing, rafting, etc.) and swimming, etc.

A little further: St-Jean-Lachalm (Beer and Lentil Farm, via ferrata), Monistrol-d'Allier (Madeleine and Rochegude chapels), Saugues (Tour des Anglais, Beast of Gévaudan Museum, ecological lake), the landscapes of the Gorges du Haut-Allier, the town of Puy-en-Velay with its historic monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Mont Mouchet, etc.

All shops and services in Saugues. On the ground floor of the cottage, you will find the equipped kitchen opening onto the dining table and the lounge area (wood stove, flat screen TV, corner sofa), a shower room and a toilet complete this level.
On the 1st floor, there are 3 bedrooms (5 single beds and 1 double bed) and a shower room/WC.
Finally, on the 2nd and last attic floor (converted attic), you will find 4 single beds, a reading corner with a sofa bed if necessary (2 people) and a shower room/WC.

Baby equipment: travel cot and high chair.

Electricity and heating charges (geothermal heating) are included in the price ONLY FROM MAY to AUGUST. (the rest of the year, from April to September, a heating package will be requested, to be paid directly to the owners).

Towels and sheets are not provided.
