"Disgusting value for money, avoid at all costs! What was meant to be a romantic trip for my fiances 50th ended up being a total let down. The hotel has issues spanning from the plumbing to general cleanliness and is going to take a considerable outlay if they ever expect the place to get any guests - far too many to mention here anyway. My main issues was with our room, as it was nearly £100 a night. Firstly the whole place is like a sauna...combine that with stale oil smell and it is very off-putting. Opening the window is fine, but we had a mountain view, so it was on the front next to the road and far too loud to sleep with wide open. The king bed had an indentation in it which made you feel like you was falling to one side - Very uncomfortable. The room next door was occupied with what I believe to be the owners family. Kids shouting at 7am with walls so thin, I could hear every single word they said when talking normally! Broken furniture, dirt and grime everywhere, portable heaters on the floor and extention cables and many many many other issues which I would expect in a Benidorm B&B, not here! "

"Room was clean, but property needs maintenance - peeling paint on room sash window, hook on bathroom door broken off and missing. Otherwise very comfortable, Continental Breakfast good and staff lovely."

"Hotel was full of big dogs, more kennel than hotel. Spa is only available at extra cost. Won’t stay again. "

"Plenty of parking, lovely room. Friendly staff. Only downside.... I'm gluten free and they didn't have any GF cereal but i was able to have a full english breakfast and they had GF bread and sausages. Nice touch in the room was biscuits, but again i had stated on the booking that i was Gf so it would have been a nice to have left a packet of GF biscuits. Only 12 minutes drive from main area of Matlock town. "

"A very clean,tidy and well run hotel.Breakfast was very enjoyable with toast,cereals, fresh fruit, teas,coffee and a great range of hot ,cooked meals available. Beds were to die for, i slept better here than in my own bed."
