Overall, it was good; (fair for the price),
Cons
- The room smelled weird,
- There is a lot of noise from the street and the cars around (almost all the time)
- The room wasn’t well cleaned, the floor is dusty and dirty
Pros:
- The staff service is great; they helped me with everything I needed.
- The location is great, a lot of shops around and great places to eat
- There are some touristic places around as well to discover and explore around Amman
- Short walking distance from almost everything
We spent three nights at this wonderful hotel when we traveled to Jordan from US. The Cliff Hotel locates exactly in central downtown so that almost all taxi drivers know where the hotel is. The owner and staffs are absolutely honest and friendly. They provided daily tour for us to Madaba, Mount Nebo, and Dead Sea. They even drove us to the King Hussein Bridge Crossing across the board to Jerusalem. The Cliff Hotel thinks about their customer first and takes care of us very much. They make you feel at home.
Is not about me, would be nice to provide towels and basic shampoo and soap. sometimes traveling makes more things to bring if those are not available. just in case I had those things with me no problem.
My honest advice is DON’T STAY THERE.
This place is a disaster by all means for the following reasons:
1-Rooms are extremely tight with no air conditioning in a very hot summer.
2-Sixteen rooms share only 2 toilet seats and 2 shower rooms.
3-toilet rooms are beyond disaster. There are pee drops on the rims and water flooding most of the time.
4-Showers are unprepared and offer nothing. Very tight, no hangers to hang your dirty or clean clothes, unsecured locks, no privacy… simply, there’s no way you can get clean there. You enter the shower, you get dirtier than before!
5-One of the managers was the rudest ever! Very insensitive to me complaining about the miserable conditions in the bathroom and careless.
5-Rooms are the highest floor with no elevator and a tight staircase where you have to battle to get your luggage up and down.
6-Very smelly and stinky, dirty bedsheets that they don’t seem to clean after each guest because I saw dirt from the previous guests.
Please never book this disgusting place.
The location is amazing. Its so close from all what you will need to go .there is also station infront of it you can take the bus to many places .the staff is amazing ,so cheerful and helpful. It's really a good experiment

The hostel is old but clean and the stuff quite helpful, especially the young ones. There are rooms with air-condition and rooms without air-condition and they charge you differently for each, which was quite strange for me. We had booked a room and when we got there we saw there was no heating and it was freezing in Amman at the moment so we asked for heating and said we had to pay 4JD extra per night. Which we did but found strange. But the last day we went to pay for teh room (we hadn't paid through booking) I gave my card cause we had run out of JD and the guy charged us 3 JD for paying with card!!!!!!!! Which then we found out it's not legal. They have arrangements with banks so they cannot CHARGE YOU for paying with card. Besides that thing with the money, the hostel is in good location, the rooms are clean and taken care off and it's good value for money.
Our stay in Amman would’ve have been the same without staying at Cliff Hostel. The staff were extremely helpful and kind during our time and I highly recommend it to everyone.
The flight I take was landed on midnight, and when I be Cliff Hotel was around 3am. The both address on Hotels.com were wrong, I spent a lot of time for searching the accurate one. Please find “Cliff Hotel” on Google map and the address is “Opp Hashem Resturant Prince Mohamed Street 11115, Amman”.
When you be there, please look for a alley just on the right of a big junction. The signage is light brown color and wrote “Cliff Hostel” 2 meters above your head. Should be on the second floor in that building, no lift.
The room I booked is a fan room, shared shower room. Everything is acceptable by considering the price. But it is super worth for the nearby area! It is like the heart of the city. You can easy find everything you need, and the restaurant even still operating at 3am.
Happy to stay there, the owner is a friendly elderly and all the rooms were named under the famous person in the World. My one is “Bill Gates”
The staff there was great . Really helpful and just a genuine person. Some good food around the hostel. Everything we did was walking sistancw so that was great. Hot showeres are always available and they are roomy . Bathroom were clean. Chilly room in january but they give you enough blankets. the bakery right across from in on the ground floor was really good! We bough freshly baked goods everymorming . The donuts are ok. They have airport transfors. Good price on rides to the Dead Sea and back!!! 10 per person
The night staff Andrew is a very rude man. A lot of backpackers are out from 7am till 7pm. When we come back to the room we want to rest then get food after waking up which may be 11pm or so. Andrew refuses to open the door and let anyone outside after 11pm because he said “I need to sleep”. The restaurant across the street is open 24/7. Downtown Amman is very safe with a lot of police presence. Take your own toilet paper because you need to ask for paper every time you have to use the bathroom. You better hope it’s not after 11pm because he’s sleeping in the room next to the reception desk and he will get mad. The shower is open from 6am to 11pm and you need staff to put on the hot water every time, hot water only lasts for 5 minutes. The WiFi only works in the lobby. There are many other places close to this place like “the art hotel” and “farah hotel”. I got fed up and stayed at Farah hotel, a place where the staff is at the desk 24/7 and you don’t need to ask for anything.
Stayed several nights in Amman, saw the sights and took a few day trips. The hotel was clean, great value and warm. We ended up staying for another night when we returned to Amman - Andrew was so helpful and friendly to us. He had excellent advice and recommendations for food and for travel. Would highly recommend Cliff Hostel to a friend
Horrible I never stayed I walked out the place is absolutely disgusting the staff was very rude and pathetic the room just simply nasty and one shared bathroom for the whole wanna be a hotel. It was a NIGHTMARE

I stayed for 2 nights at this hostel, which was located in the middle of downtown Amman. It is at a great location near the Grand Husseini Mosque, which acts as a nice landmark to navigate around from. The management here are overall very nice and hospitable people. I especially liked Fouad, the owner. He is a very funny, laid-back guy. Very happy to help and suggest where to go for great food or great deals in the markets nearby. Pointed me to where I could get a great dinner for less than 3 dinars. He even offered me a drive to the airport at a price that was better than the local taxis. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and was rather sad about leaving. The key to enjoying and getting the most out of downtown Amman is to have a local expert who knows the language and can point to where to go for everything, and the management here was happy to provide that. so, I'd recommend all travellers who visit to seek out their help and advice.
