Quiet retreat on the outskirts of Amsterdam

This was a perfect place for us, a quiet neighborhood close to the countryside, and close to public transportation to downtown Amsterdam. Our hosts Gerard, Ingrid, and Daniël were fantastic, meeting us at the property upon arrival, and giving suggestions for activities throughout our weeklong stay. Highly recommended if you want a quiet place to stay with easy access to all that Amsterdam and the surrounding area has to offer.

peaceful home outside Amsterdam

The house is peaceful, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook simple meals. The local train station is a pleasant 20 min walk (or you can take the #44 bus which stops a few minutes from the house) from the house, and trains to Amsterdam center run frequently. There is a supermarket about a 10 minute walk from the house as well as a wide canal with a pedestrian path alongside it just a few minutes walk away. Hosts were helpful, responsive, and accommodating. I'd recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay just outside Amsterdam

Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit sehr offenen, freundlichen und sympathischen Gastgebern. In jeder Form unkompliziert und entspannt. Wir wurden super freundlich empfangen und habe schöne Ausflugstips bekommen. In dem liebe- und stilvoll eingerichtetem Haus mangelt es an nichts und auf der Terasse konnten wir den Tag entspannt beginnen und am Abend gemütlich ausklingen lassen. Durch die gute Verkehrsanbindung waren wir schnell in Amsterdam. Wir können das Ferienhaus und die Gastgeber nur weiterempfehlen. Danke für die Zeit, die wir in Diemen verbringen durften. Alles gut in Diemen Noord

Eine sehr schöne Wohnung und vollständig eingerichtet für den Ferienaufenthalt. Alles sehr sauber und gut in Ordnung. Wir wurden auch sehr freundlich begrüßt und bekamen eine kurze, aber gute Einweisung. In Diemen Noord gibt es für den Alltag ausreichende Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Und man ist schnell auf dem Deichweg und dann mit dem Rad in einer guten Viertelstunde im Amsterdamer Zentrum. Kurz: Eine schöne Wohnung und auch schön gelegen.

Well kept townhouse

Extremely well kept townhouse in Amsterdam suburb. If you want to feel at home after a day in downtown it would be your best choice. You can live like a local in a safe and pleasant setting . Very convenient transportation: your have a choice of train, tram, or subway. We bought a 7 day pass (tram, subway, bus) in a book store at airport. I believe it was 32 Euro. It was a very good choice! There is a last bus line stop just across of street. They even have a night bus from Amsterdam after 1 am. You can see it from a window. If you rent a bicycle, you can take a picturesque lighted road along a canal to downtown. BTW, you can see from a kitchen window all those ships passing a canal. Bottomline, you can reach any points in Amsterdam in 40 min. This townhouse is close to a wonderfull park and canal (see pictures, there are real!). We took few trips outside Amsterdam ( I strongly suggest it). Location was really convenient for side trips. Townhouse was really clean, has a nice garden with koi poind and golden fish. I never saw kitchen so well equipped for whatever you want to cook. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. If you have disabilities, it could be a problem. There is a nice leather couch on a ground floor, though. There are a lot of TV channels in English. Beer and vine waiting for us was great! You will find a supermarket in a walking distance...with a herring truck next to it. I strongly suggest to buy fish there! Also, you can take a bus to a nearby shopping center. Or yoy can do it on your return trip from Amsterdam. Strangely, they have 3 (!) supermarkets there...one with a free expresso! I had absolutely no problems communicating with owners and their son, Daniel. He answered all questions promptly, and was really usefull. I have 3 advices. 1. Take a taxi from the airport. It will be quick and pleasant. Don' t activate your pass right away. You can do it later after some rest entering a bus. 2. Try Indonesian food. BTW, there is a nice takeout place close to tram station. You will enjoy it with cold beer next to a koi pond. 3. Make reservations to Van Gohg and Reiksmuseum well ahead of you trip. I would recommend this townhouse without any reservations for a couple or family! Enjoy your trip! Roustem

Lage, Lage, Lage

In Sichtweite des Hauses ist die ruhige End- und Ausgangshaltestelle Diemen Noord für den Bus 44. Er fährt tagsüber alle zehn Minuten, samstags viertelstündlich und sonntags halbstündlich zur Bahn, Tram 19 oder Metro 53 mit deren Ziel Amsterdam. Der Museumsplein z.B. ist in ca. 45 Minuten zu erreichen. Zum Spazierengehen lädt der Diemerpolder am Amsterdam-Rhein-Kanal ein. An diesem entlang geht es gut per Fahrrad in die City oder aufs Land. Der persönliche Empfang durch den Sohn der Vermieter und die Begleitung per WhatsApp durch die Vermieterin waren freundlich und kompetent. Das Reihenmittelhaus hat eine steile Treppe und ist hellhörig. Die Terrassenmöbel und Sitzauflagen sind sehr gut. Das Haus verfügt über eine Markise. Insgesamt ist die Lage des Hauses ideal. Wer mit dem Zug anreist, kann am Bahnhof Diemen aussteigen und muss nur fünf Stationen mit dem Bus fahren oder kann die Strecke sogar in ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß zurücklegen. Die Mischung zwischen Stadt und Land überzeugt.

Geräumige Zimmer, bestens geeignet für 2-4 Personen. Perfekt ausgestattet. Vermieter Ingrid und Gerard Korrel ausgesprochen freundlich, entgegenkommend und fürsorglich. Sprechen sehr gut deutsch. Perfekte Verkehrsverbindung mit Buslinie 44 (bis 19 Uhr alle 15min) oder Fahrrad zur S-Bahn (Sprinter), zur Straßenbahn 19 (Rijksmuseum retc.) und zur Metro. PkW sowieso. Absolut ruhige Nachbarschaft (kaum zu spüren). Jederzeit wieder.

Sehr schön, gute Ausstattung, super Lage.

Bei unserer Anreise war alles perfekt vorbereitet, wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und aufgenommen. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schön, es war alles da. Auch die Lage hat uns sehr gut gefallen; der Bus hat die Wendeschleife fast vor der Haustür (und stört gar nicht, da die Schlafzimmer nach hinten gerichtet sind). Mit dem Bus kommt man bequem zum Bahnhof Diemen und von dort alle ca. 15 min ins Zentrum von Amsterdam.
