Highly recommend staying here

We stayed in the family studio for 4 nights and loved every second of it! The view, the room, the food and the service. It is total relaxation with the possibility to go on trips eg. on the hotels boat. We also got a very nice massage on location with a view of the sea. We only used the pool due to low tide at the Beach.

This is a beautiful resort. It is a 2 hour drive from the port but well worth it. Once there, they have everything you will need including sightseeing packages. The restaurant food is cooked to order and very good selection. The rooms are clean, updated, and beautiful. The views of ocean are amazing. This place is truly a paradise

The attention given to details in this resort is not found in other resorts. I have traveled the world for decades and there is no question this is one of if not the best relaxing resort that I have ever been to. We will be going back!!

This place is in a beautiful spot and the food was delicious! The swimming pool has a great view of the ocean and there is easy acces to the ocean. My only issue was that there is not much else in the immediate area, so youd have to get a ride into town or anywhere else really. But overall a great getaway if you are looking for a quiet spot with a view!

The hotel itself is quite nice and the room Was good until I walked into the bathroom at night time, turned the light on and saw about 20 cockroaches scatter across the room. I told the owner at check out but she was pretty nonchalant about it. It wasn’t cheap so i didnt expect for there to be sooo many cockroaches in the bathroom.

Its beautifully located just vy the sea, with a small but cozy strip of beach just beside it. The room was very clean and spacious with a lovely garden in front of it. Wifi worked very well. The common area was nice with spots for chilling on a lounge chair and the restaurant/reception had a great view. The pool was however not very well mantained, so it wasnt to inviting to go swimming in. The food was ok. Staff were friendly and helpful, as they often are in the Philippines. It is a calm, nice place, with great scenery and the price was very good in relation to what you got. So, all in all we enjoyed it (we stayed 2 nights). PS: There's a cute village nearby, so recommended is to hire a motorbike and go there and other excursions in the area.

Jilo / Ralf the proprietor are wonderful gracious Hostess/Host you ever find . been traveling allover the world and never have a one on one wonderful treatment with the owner/manager... the resort is very clean , food were deliss and all the employees are very nice and wonderful. I will definetly be back if and when I'm in this part of town.

Almost perfect place to relax

Very nice small hotel with a great view and nice private beach. There is a pool with several lounge chairs to relax and it is immediately next to a small bar and outdoor restaurant seating area. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There is even a small boutique onsite. I’ve stayed twice now and expect to visit again. Since the owners live onsite snd all the staff lives nearby they have a good network of support services available like spa, diving, tours, activities etc. They will send their driver to store or take you if you need anything but there isn’t much else in Anda. 2 other small hotels not far in either direction along the coast in case you want to try different menu
.depends upon how long you are staying. The menu at J&R is varied and good. Breakfast is excellent. Since it’s about 2 hours from airport I suggest you organize ahead the hotel van to meet you if needing transportation

Die Lage, die Natur und diese Ruhe - ein kleines Paradies zum Erholen! Keine Menschenmassen, kein LĂ€rm und keine Musik am Pool. Entspannung pur. Sehr gutes Personal das immer um einen bemĂŒht ist. Sofort bekommt man immer und ĂŒberall Wasser und frische GlĂ€ser gebracht. Jederzeit kann man sich Essen von der Karte bestellen. Totale Freiheit!

We felt very unwelcome there, felt like the owner did not like Filipinos, and he certainly does not like kids from the way that he treated us. Not a family friendly establishment, despite the fact they claim "children are welcome". Furthermore a bit of a hypocrite, there are two dogs on the premise, often hanging around the restaurant and barking at night, yet they have "no pet no service animals" policy... We felt like the owner treats his dogs better than he treated us... will not stay here again.

If you have children - AVOID THIS PROPERTY LIKE A PLAGUE! When we first checked in we were shown the rooms, they looked very good and high-end, the views were great too. Then i asked about wifi - i was informed that owner does not give wifi password to employees or guests, that i am supposed to give them my laptop or phone and owner will connect the device to wifi...This was very unprofessional, after i pointed that out an employee was able to give me the password. Later we informed employees we booked all available rooms for the next day and that our family will join us - total 7 adults 7 kids including us. We ordered a roll-away bed in one of the rooms to make sure everyone was accommodated, and it appeared we were at an agreement with the resort. When we later spoke with the owner he said "yes i know" in regards to our big family arriving. When our family arrive, of course kids went to use the pool, right away we could feel the tension. Later we over-heard the owner's wife yelling at the employees for allowing so many people to check in, AFTER we had an agreement! That night the owner was sitting at the bar sulking ignoring us completely even after my wife tried to talk to him and say hi... he even scolded my child for pinching flower!!! When we approached the owner about this behaviour he was defensive and said "leave a review". We left one day early... nobody should go through this so PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE. White privileged adults only - should be the name.

Det som vi upplevde som nackdel var att det var svÄrt att bada pÄ morgonen pga ebb och trÄkig havsbotten. Hotellet har en underbar bÄt för snorkelutflykter. Rekommenderas: levande koraller och stora sköldpaddor. Trevlig personal. Safe saknades pÄ rummet. Tyst och ny AC. Bra myggnÀt trots fÄ mygg. VÀlskött trÀdgÄrd.

Great location, peaceful with great access to long walks along the beach. Well maintained property, with clean beach front and public areas. Loved the hammock to read, the outdoor restaurant and super friendly service. Interesting menu with a german twist. The owner was present, friendly and helpful; arranged my day tour of Bohol and a scuba dive outing via a nearby property with certified diving facilities. Only stayed a weekend and would have loved more days to try their snorkeling, kayaking, etc. I hope to be back!

A dream to relax

We loved our stay at the J&R Residence. The staff was very friendly, the premises and our room was beautiful, the food delicious. We rented a Kajak and went snorkeling just outside the Residence and it was magical. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I traveled the Philippines for our 25Th wedding anniversary and this was, by far, the best and most beautiful hotel we came across. We wished, we could have stayed a little longer. It's a small paradise, clean, comfortable with friendly and caring staff, directly on the ocean with a clean beach and great food. Don't hesitate to book this place, you won't regret it.

Quiet relaxation

The J&R Residence is two hours from the airport so we recommend that you arrange for Lando, the very capable, safe and considerate driver from J&R to collect you in their comfortable car. J&R is more of a B&B with a restaurant than a hotel, which reflects the way it has developed. Everything is well maintained and spotlessly clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. It is a great place to relax for a few days, in peace and quiet. There are other resorts nearby so you can easily get a variety of food and if the tide is not high you can walk to White Beach at Anda along the sand. Either walk back or get a tricycle (an experience in itself on the last part of the road). The rooms are clean and tidy but very basic. No TV (who cares) but no tea making facilities, a tiny wardrobe arrangement and uncomfortable furniture. Don't bother trying to read in bed - the lighting is far too dim. Internet connection is slow. The airconditioning is effective. If you have limited mobility it would be wise to request a room at the top level as all the others have a lot of steep steps with no handrails. The manicured lawns and gardens are inviting and there are shady spots to sit and listen to the waves.
