"We stayed at Walnut Grove Ranch from 5-18-2025 through 5-25-2025, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute there. We were surprised to learn that the historic home was built around 1870 by the same Sheriff Brady who encountered Billy the Kid. The spacious home served as our clean, comfortable and well-appointed base from which we visited the White Sands, Cloudcroft, the Inn of the Mountain Gods, historic Lincoln, Smoky Bear museum, and informative Fort Stanton. Not only was the home itself a delight, but every day we were entertained by the abundant wildlife there. We woke up and enjoyed our coffee to elk, Barbary Sheep, javelinas, peacocks, and wild turkeys all around us. It was like being in the center of a nature preserve. But best of all was our gracious and accommodating hostess, Becca. She paid attention to every detail, from the snacks in the kitchen to the board games hung on the wall. She ensured our stay was perfect and took care of everything we needed. We highly recommend Walnut Grove Ranch for your vacation experience, and we hope to get to come back ourselves again soon."

"Just a 15-20 min drive outside of ruidoso is a wonderful couple with a beautiful apartment style room. The property is well kept and the room is beautiful and cozy. My wife and I loved our stay.
