Poipet itself is terrible. Holiday Palace is a great respite and is on par with a good Western casino in terms of cleanliness and service.

Matsubayashi Japanese restaurant for the unhungry
Reception and staff were great. Everything about the hotel was fine. The Japanese restaurant was a surreal experience. The waitresses and female manager were polite and efficient, but the group of male cooks didn’t fill orders in the order they came. We hen we arrived the restaurant was empty. Soon it filled up with 25 people, all who got their food before us. After one hour I was told that my noodles would take another 30 minutes. I’ve never heard of such a strange place. Ironically, the food tasted good, but the waitresses and manager couldn’t get the cooks to cook our food. I’d make the cooks shut up and cook in the order of the orders coming in. When we got angry, another customer also complained that his hot food hadn’t arrived and everyone else had finished eating. I like to observe human behavior so I watched the charade with perplexed amusement.
