Sauder Village is a nonprofit organization, home of Ohio’s largest living-history museum. The 235-acre complex offers a complement of food, lodging and retail services, making it an ideal destination for families, groups, small conferences and special events.

We are different than most organizations thanks to the original passion and dream of our founder, Erie Sauder who was a visionary leader. Erie established Sauder Village in 1976, not just to preserve the “things” from history, but more importantly to share the “stories” of every day people of the past. His respect and appreciation for his ancestors translated into a passion to ensure that people, and most specifically children, realize the ingenuity, hard work, sacrifice, and determination of those who came before us — and ultimately to inspire that same pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit in their lives today in hopes that they strive to make a positive difference in their world. This continues to serve as our core purpose.

"I want to start by saying that i have given ample time for the owner to get back with me about partial refund for my stay. The listing atates that it is a 3 br 1 bath home this is inaccurate. It is a 2 br 1.5 bath duplex.When we arived the water smelled horrible. It was a very strong sulfer smell like rotten eggs. I contacted her right away.this took 5 days to fix. In the mean time were were buying bottled water to brush our teeth and showering at family house. The internet went out on day two...

"We couldnt get in or get ahold of owner at check in time, so we couldnt cancel before check in time. Home is in a bad neighborhood. Kitchen cabinets full of junk and pans etc were nasty. Fridge was dirty and mildew in freezer. Bedroom1 pillows were brown and old. Bedroom 2 there was saw dust all over the bed and there was either mold, or bug feces onbox springs. Bedroom 3 had no sheets on the bedand stains all over pillows. There was no heat coming into any of the bedrooms. There was snow and...

"The water did not work for the majority of the time. It was fixed once on the first day which resulted in muddy/ dirty water but that was short lived as the water promptly went out within the next day and a half. They could not get anyone out to come repair the water again. Not to mention the dryer did not work. We were told that someone would be out to replace/ repair but that never happened. Expedia should be ashamed for continuing to list this property after being told that it was not...

"Excellent stay, top notch customer service! Prompt , professional service at check in; she was very knowledgeable and friendly, made sure we had everything we needed. I travel frequently, and am very impressed with the room cleanliness. Our suite was spacious enough to travel with our daughter, and accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast, and love having coffee available in lobby 24/7. We look forward to coming back for next year’s event !"
