"Gorgeous property. The landscaping beautiful. The seven additional semiprivate Jacuzzis were well maintained and conveniently located for all rooms. The pool area was clean and inviting. The room itself was immaculate, private, quite, well decorated and spacious. However, the bed was usually HARD. I kind of couldn’t believe it. Negatives: The staff consistently made us feel like we were putting them out. The restaurant staff more so than anyone definitely had a chip on their shoulder day and night. The $$$ prices at the restaurant were astronomical!!!! Also SHOCKING. And even though most staff are bilingual, it was extremely difficult to communicate with most all of the staff members. Honestly, I was extremely impressed with everything until I stayed there for a couple days. Primarily due to the restaurant. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Nothing is worse than a bad attitude when you’re on vacation. :("

"A million good things to say about this hotel. Our check-in team was incredibly friendly. When they learned that my mom was sick and had to go to a hospital in San Jose, they processed our refund without any problems. Everywhere we went, the staff exceeded our expectations. The rooftop even provided room service for us, and one staff member went out of their way to bring a special knife to cut open our coconut. This is the kind of place where you can truly relax and trust the people around you to take care of your needs. We will definitely come back. The hotel’s designer is also a genius—the property is beautifully laid out. The pools have great depth for little kids, and the whole place is very family-friendly with thoughtful safety considerations throughout."

"Hotel Sanctuarium deserves high praises. The property is absolutely stunning from the moment you pull in to the front gate to the welcoming staff waiting for you at the door. Such a warm welcoming with a welcoming drink and a tour of the property. Even have access to the river. The room is spacious and clean with a walk in waterfall shower head. The outdoor pool and hot tub with bar is a must with a beautiful view of the volcano. The staff is absolutely amazing. Dayana and her brother Kevin were great! Literally everyone was great and welcoming. Need airport transportation? Let them know and they can help you set it up. Need help with booking excursions? They got you! They made the whole process smooth. If you’re looking to come to La Fortuna, I highly suggest you stay here."

"This was our second stay at Lost Iguana and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Our room was very spacious, and we especially loved the outdoor shower and the incredible view. The rooms feel like you’re staying on a private property while still enjoying all the amenities of a great hotel. We traveled with our three children and found it very family-friendly. The restaurants have plenty of food options for kids for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they especially loved the pool area. The location is also fantastic—close to many La Fortuna activities while still feeling quiet and secluded. We would absolutely stay here again."
