Cozy cottage in mountains 2.2 miles from downtown or 10 dollars on uber

HURRICANE UPDATE: Fortunately, the cottage was not damaged by Hurricane Helene. The roads ae clear, potable water, electricity, and the internet have been restored. Downtown Asheville which is minutes away was not damaged either. Most of the breweries, shops, and restaurants there have reopened. The Biltmore reopened in November, and parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville are open. To encourage people to return to the mountains, a significant discount is being offered.
Cozy Cottage in the woods on a mountainside just minutes from downtown Asheville. Set in a peaceful, pastoral setting, enjoy panoramic views from the wraparound deck and loft. The deck has plenty of outdoor seating for relaxing and dining. Inside, the open living area has a vaulted ceiling and loft. It is comfortably furnished and well equipped. The kitchen has a range with oven, microwave, refrigerator, ice maker, disposal, and dishwasher. Dishes, flatware, glassware, pots and pans are provided. There is WIFI, a large flat screen TV for streaming, and a wood stove for Fall and Winter evenings. The cozy cottage offers the best of both worlds. You can relax here away from it all, and in a manner of minutes enjoy the Biltmore, local breweries, fine dining, entertainment, arts, and shopping that are unique to Asheville. 2.2 miles to downtown Asheville, or three miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can sight-see, bike or hike.

Modern design nestled in the woods a stunning, short drive from downtown, the cottage provided an ideal base for exploring nearby waterfalls, the Biltmore, and Asheville attractions. Definitely recommend!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this awesome cabin! The location was perfect…it was a short drive to the Orange Peel, where we went for 3 nights. Uber drivers were able to find it easily. The cabin had everything we needed and check in and check out were seamless. I highly recommend this place! Thank you!!

We enjoyed this quiet little house in the mountains. The location is great. Easy drives everywhere we wanted to go. The mountain road to the home is a slow curvy road and the road up to the house was bumpy and unpaved. Parking was a bit cumbersome having to 3 point turn to get out. Other than driving in and out, we really enjoyed our stay.

Property is very nice. So close to town and yet you feel like you are out in the country. One thing ... The bed advertised as a queen is definitely not; it's a full. That makes a difference to most, including my husband and me.

Gave this a 3 I lieu of 5 stars due to the BED! Mattress needs to be replaced. DO NOT stay here unless the owner assures you it has been replaced. Other than this, adequately furnished, but NOT the inviting upscale presentation of other cottages in this same price range.

It was a very cute place but getting to it was difficult. The streets are winding because it’s up a mountain but some of the turns were extremely sharp with no room to spare. There is not a fireplace but a stove instead. We didn’t use it because we’re not accustomed to it. It’s a perfect place if you want to be secluded.

This is a first-rate property--clean, comfortable, chic, and in a great location. And we had great communication with the host. Do remember that, although Asheville is just 10 minutes away, you have to drive up and down twisty mountain roads. If you're uncomfortable with that type of road, this might not be the place for you. Also, be sure to read the information about bears helpfully provided by the host. You might even want to pack some bear spray. But mountain roads and bears are part of what make this place so special. Thanks for the great stay!

I liked that this property was very close to downtown Asheville, you really only have the drive down from the mountain and your already there. Gorgeous view on the ride up of all the town lights and mountains, many trees blocked the view off the balcony but still cozy and beautiful place to stay. My 6 yr son loved the upstairs loft. My son is a drawer so the desk was a perfect touch as well. The property owner left many amenities for our stay such as laundry soap, bath soap, extra toothbrush, etc. We stayed through Christmas so having a Christmas tree already there meant the world to me. I appreciated how easy it was just access the home and the owner was very communicative. Wonderful stay. Would love to visit again soon.

This property is a great mountain cabin and was a wonderful place to spend a week. The check in process is great. We would definitely stay here again. Ants and millipedes are still a problem but really don’t bother our family. Be prepared to bring everything along that you need because the house rules require you to throw everything away when you leave. This rule is very wasteful as most VRBOs that we have stayed in allow you to leave the leftover food for the next guests. We really like having the leftovers from the previous guests to give you time to go shopping. It was also disappointing that we had to buy laundry detergent as the listing said basic soap was included but there was none and we did not have enough toilet tissue and paper towels for the week.

First of all, when people say you'll see bears here, they MEAN it!! We had multiple bears come up on the deck (like staring us in the face through the window), up to the front door, a baby bear even climbed on my car! It was definitely a memorable experience! A little scary leaving the house, but we mostly just walked straight to the car and were fine. The location was perfect! We were close to everything while still being in the mountains. It was exactly what we wanted. The only thing that was frustrating was that one of the windows in the bathroom had the lock broken. We didn't really feel comfortable staying at a unfamiliar place in the mountains with bears everywhere (haha) without being able to lock the window. We followed the protocol and emailed the owner as soon as we noticed it (within 30 mins of arriving). He emailed back quickly and said someone named "John" would be by to check it out. I asked when we should expect him and he never responded and nobody ever came to look at it. Other that that, it was a great place. Somewhat outdated, but didn't bother us at all.
