This is our second stay its so relaxing in a perfect location for what we need it for as our daughter lives close by .Staff are very friendly and food is good.Everything is very clean.
Cosy and cute hotel in the centre of a little town
Me and my wife, who is quite picky, enjoyed the stay.
It was cosy, the vegan breakfast was great and the village is so cute.
We loved it.
Really good value for money(Paid 70 GBP for room 9 with double bed)
Self check-in worked perfectly with codes provided by the Kings Head. The room was comfortable with a good bathroom and generous waters, teas, coffees etc. The cooked breakfast was also good and set me up for a day's walking.
Lovely setting, everything was very clean. From a practical point of view the size of the bedroom could have been bigger and the bathroom a little smaller. The breakfast was fantastic, I would highly recommend this property
We were not told the pub had closed a week earlier untill we arrived, after a phone call we were told the hotel part was still open with the key box code we accessed the back entrance to the hotel and found are room which was excellent
we stayed for one night, check in was smooth as we received the email instructions. we did not realise that we could have parked in the car park of the sister pub, that was in the leaflet in the room.
leaflet contained two phone numbers for booking breakfast one of which was wrong.
the only downside was early breakfast finishing 9.30 and early check out (10am).

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
A really lovely room with a beautiful bathroom. However the room required general maintenance as tap in bathroom was loose, water damage around ceilings, carpet coming up from floor and some areas requiring a fresh coat of paint. It had a generally tired feel to it and some outdated bedroom furniture. The stairwell leading to the rooms also had a hole in the wall in need of repair. Breakfast is amazing and the highlight of the stay.
Contactless booking applies early in week which was a surprise when I arrived as I had noted that I woudl pay at the place when booking. Luckily there was someone there to help me get in otherwise I would have been stuck.
Bar/Restaurant is currently closed on a Monday/Tuesday so went out for food. I wasn't aware when booking as nothing was noted on the site. Luckily as they are in a town it was walking distance to some very good gastro eateries. Very quiet, clean and comfortable room. A packed continental breakfast was also supplied in my room plus cold water. Could have done with access to an iron as was travelling with work but I managed. Initial teathing problems, but overall, my stay was fine and would book here again.
Breakfast not as pictured. Having called the hotel the day before booking my last minute trip, I wasn't told a proper breakfast is not offered on Wednesdays. I had an email on the morning telling me a bag would be left outside my room at 3pm on Tuesday ready for Wednesday morning.
The bag :
1 a plastic wrapped croissant, labelled eat on day of purchase. Was told by a cleaner it was ok because it had been frozen & defrosted. Therefore not baker-fresh. Also nowhere to warm it.
2 an individual box of cornflakes. No choice of cereal. Not even a cereal with any flavor. Long life milk to go with it.
3 a plastic wrapped chocolate muffin that lasts til October, so also not fresh from a bakers.
4 a packet of crisps. Yes crisps. Since when are crisps a breakfast item?!
No fruit. No yoghurt. No toast.
I picked a place with a good breakfast for a reason so very disappointed.
I wouldn't normally post a mean review but as I had called the hotel, was told to email which I did, messaged via Expedia & called Expedia (also didn't get a response), I have tried to resolve privately before reviewing publicly. The only correspondence I had from hotel since my stay asked for a review so that's what I've done
Such a shame. Room was lovely, bathroom really clean, village really nice. But I am one of many people who look forward to the yummy breakfast on a break so it was a major let down. They should come to an arrangement with a nearby hotel for Weds to solve. The bags are a terrible idea.
