The house was more spacious than I'd imagined and from how it appears from the outside when you arrive. Lovely large kitchen, a lounge/dining room and upstairs bedrooms. The shower was good. The house inside was very clean and well presented and the backyard was tidy. We weren't bothered by lack of garden furniture. We had wifi access which was really helpful.
The house is not in a great location but we were using it as a base to explore the local area. The issues for us were the lack of instructions for appliances. We had to try and figure it all out. We were unable to use the TV/fire stick - we managed to get onto BBC iplayer but it kept buffering. We couldn't find a broom or dustpan and brush to sweep up and when we tried to hoover before leaving, that wasn't working. That said, the house served its purpose and we enjoyed our time there.
Scruffy mouldy house on an estate with bags of rubbish spilling out.
This should not be described as a cosy cottage! It is a scruffy, ill-equipped property in the middle of a housing estate. On arrival there was bags of rubbish spilling out on to the path. Dog hairs on the welcome mat. Sticky bin and dirty kettle. Mouldy bathroom. Shower rail fell on to my granddaughter’s head. Could only shower as the mixer taps were jammed. No household info. Internet went off for two days. Upstairs slightly better, but still not great. The photos on website very deceiving. No communication back from rental company when I complained. Avoid and spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!

Ashington house
The house was not very clean. Rubbish was overflowing at the door when we arrived. The house was big enough and the beds were clean but overall the property could have done with a good clean.

Beautiful Northumberland
We had a lovely stay. At first sight the street is perhaps unprepossessing, however it was quiet and really convenient for the stunning nearby beaches, supermarkets etc. It was comfortable and clean and a good size for two of us. The neighbours were quiet and friendly. The following is not criticism but more pointers for the future.
We had a 10 night stay but only one towel each was left for this period, the bed linen was ok but again only one set for the stay.
There were no cleaning products of any kind and only one tea towel. Usually in holiday lets there are adequate toilet rolls but less than one was left. There was no Welcome Pack explaining issues like how the heating works, collection of rubbish and recycling, emergency numbers how TV works etc. There was no Fire Extinguisher. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but things like a cork screw and better knives would be useful. There was one small frying pan, if a family were staying and wanted to cook a large breakfast this would not be adequate. There was one baking sheet, no casseroles or similar. There was a small gravel garden space which was overrun with weeds, it was lovely weather and we would have liked to have used it although there was no garden furniture.
I reiterate that this was a nice property, I just feel the owners are perhaps not experienced in letting to holiday makers.
