"We had a lovely short stay in this attractive stone pub with lots of character.. The location is perfect for Lancaster and the University nearby. The rooms are of a high standard and very clean. Food was good and staff pleasant and helpful. The lovely garden at the back was ideal for a relaxing pre dinner drink. Thank you, we will definitely recommend to our friends!"

"Breakfast was very good. Room a bit small and no drawers to put any thing. Staffs are good. The only problem is they didn't make up my room even though I put up the sign."

"Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...

"The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us."

"There was only one aspect to fault, and that was the breakfast. It's a buffet style so the cooked food was in heated containers. Therein lies the problem, the chunks of fried potatoes we not really cooked enough and only warm, the bacon had been sitting there to long and was tough, the knives supplied were not sharp enough to cut it up, it had to be torn apart. The scrambled egg was acceptable just, again not being hot enough. For the price charged for bed and breakfast, they need to get their...
