About this property
Hidden Gem! Sunny, Relaxing, Two-Room Apartment
Welcome to our cozy, light-filled apartment with a homey vibe. Enjoy privacy with your own entrance. It features a kitchenette living room, a separate bedroom, and dining area with a kitchen island. Relax on the private deck or in the yard with a fire pit. Light-filled kitchenette/living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. Hardwood floors, artwork, washer/dryer in unit. Eco-conscious property. Surrounded by trees. Your own mini deck. Birds chirping by day, owls by night. Herb garden, compost, fully fenced-in private yard with private access. Please note: There is not a hand railing in the bathtub at this time but one is available to be installed at request. When it’s really hot, the temperature in the apartment doesn’t go below 72 degrees. Separate property entrance, outdoor shared space. The entrance is hard to find. Please carefully review the instructions. Ground uneven. Landscaping unfinished. The yard is a work in progress. There is a fenced-in yard. Best described as post-apocalyptic chic. However, planting season has begun - watch as it makes a slow transformation. As available. Close to Revolution donuts, bars, restaurants, Marta, parks, downtown Decatur, Decatur Square, pubs, gift shops, ice cream parlors, Oakhurst Village, walking trails, historic tours, festivals, small-town vibe with cosmopolitan flair. Five minute walk to MARTA station. Across the train tracks is Revolution Donuts (a 5-minute walk), and Imperial Bar and Restaurant(a 6-minute walk). According to (rhymes with oogle) Maps, Close to A lot: Thinking Man Bar and Grill 7-minute walk. Decatur Square 23-minute walk All within walking distance. MARTA station 6-minutes walking. The house was built before driveways were expected but there is plenty of street parking. I have a dog but gates block her access to the backyard. Please use the backyard only. Trains pass through and blow their horns every so often. The neighbors are friendly. Pets fee is $40 per trip. The main house was built in 1915. The apartment is cosy and imperfect. Kind of like home. The washer-dryer combo unit accommodates small washes and takes a long time so we recommend not doing a wash the morning of checkout! More photos and local sights and activities at IG georgia_sunny_stay. Please note- the walls are thin, you may hear the walking on the stairs and from above. Also, note that this property is located in Georgia. During the summer it rains a lot and there are more insects here than in other parts of the country. We try to keep insects out but opening doors does let in bugs from time to time. Please let us know about any issues and we'll come assist as soon as possible!

We had a stopover in Atlanta before moving to France. Zoe took great care of us as we walked all over Decatur discovering its parks and restaurants. Well located near town and railway.
There was a snafu with booking and Zoe realized she had another group scheduled for this rental during the weekend we had reserved. She scrambled and found us another place (which was fantastic - incredibly beautiful, clean and luxurious!) at the last minute. She was there for us when we arrived and responded to every question we had throughout the weekend. She made sure we had a great trip!
Loved the stay wasn't there during day at all but if I was it had everything I needed to relax and enjoy myself nicely decorated has a good supply of books on hand to read. Overall a great decision. The only slight disappointment there was is the backyard not kept up well but since I wasn't there it didn't really effect me but would've enjoyed a nicer backyard.
The place was perfectly fine and just as listed. However, there was apparently a family moving into an apartment above and was running, stomping, and shrieking directly above the bedroom well past 11:00 PM. Zoe responded to my concern promptly and asked them to limit their noise to daytime only. They did not comply and it was nearing midnight after a very long day of travel, so we ultimately left and went to a hotel.

Disappointed
I was disappointed overall with my stay especially for the amount I paid. The entrance made me feel like a mistress sneaking into the house. It would have been awful if I couldn’t carry my roller bag. I saw several cockroaches in the house (I have pictures), the bed and the pillows were so uncomfortable and it was insanely squeaky, the yard wasn’t cared for at all and there were cobwebs on everything which made using the outdoor area less appealing, the kitchen sink had no water pressure so it took forever to fill anything up, the family upstairs was so loud that they kept waking me up when I was trying to go to sleep, the sitting area is very awkward so there wasn’t really a place to just relax outside of the bed, the shower wouldn’t maintain a temperature so I had to keep adjusting the knobs, and the house had a strong hospital grade disinfectant smell that never got better. My friend paid half the cost to stay around the corner from me and her place was infinitely nicer and it was also a basement apartment situation. I actually tried to find another place to go to for the second night but it was too late notice to find anything. I was extremely disappointed to say the least.

Disliked: Check-in
Not ready for prime time
Upon arriving, the instructions included in the “Key” emailing from the day before were completely wrong. I contacted the owner via VRBO and was asked if I received a message that key was under the mat. It wasn’t. I’d checked twice and it wasn’t there. VRBO contacted owner. Owner contacted me to say it should be there. When I returned, it materialized, and I was told it had been camouflaged?
Other concerns, included non functioning faucet in kitchen. Terrible water pressure in kitchen. Shower/tub faucet was fine but drainage non existent so within 2 minutes, 2-3 inches of water accumulated while shower running. 2 small bath towels only.
Inadequate seating with one tired loveseat covered with dusty looking cover. 2 stools with rattan seats at smallish moveable “island”.
First night I had 2 insulin pens freeze, rendering them unusable. WiFi spotty until completely dropped On day 3. Owner appropriately sorry and had issue resolved with 2 hours and it was fine from then on.
Overall very disappointing. Owner did what she could, but it seemed as though many aspects of having a space for short term rentals we’re not in place.
