It’s an old beach hotel. Yes the room is small but the facilities are kept clean and it’s 2 blocks from the boardwalk and beach. Perfect place to sleep and grab a shower, the rest of the day is on the beach.

It's lower level.

Great location close to restaurants and the boardwalk. Accommodations were fair. The photos look much better than what you get. If you want something for a few nights on the cheap, this will do. It's the bare minimum.

My stay that the Blue Water Inn was pretty good. I didn’t read the reviews until after I booked, so I was a bit worried that it was going to be a nightmare. My experience, however, was good! The room was clean, the contactless check in was great. When I needed help finding my room, the front desk person was so helpful. Overall, it’s obviously not a 5 star hotel, but for a 1 night trip to OC, you’re not gonna beat this price.

Ceiling was moldy. TV was not connected to WiFi and the password at the unmanned front desk didn’t work. Tv was not connected to local channels either. So don’t plan on using the TVThe bed and bathroom appeared to be clean.

Our group had a fine stay at the Blue Water Inn. We chose the property because it was inexpensive even at the peak of the season and centrally located. The room was clean and cold. We enjoyed using the covered porch area for dinner and games. Downsides were: the climb to our room, which was on the 3rd floor after a steep flight of stairs to the lobby/front desk - not the most pleasant after a long hot day on the beach or walking around the island. The pool is small and located past the dumpsters in the parking lot of the hotel next door. Again, the price was right for this stay and in my younger days I might not have minded the pool and stairs, but I think us middle aged ladies will shell out the extra money for a more comfortable stay on our next visit.

You get what you pay for

Because of the low cost, there were pretty much mostly teens and young adults that were drunk and high and very noisy until after 2:00am. The parking situation is quite odd as you have 1 long parking spot that 2 cars fit in, so if someone parks behind you, you have to hope they left their keys with the front desk or that they can be reached if you have to get your car out. The pool was nice and relaxing. It is a very old building, that while the charm from that is cool, it badly needs to be updated.

Blue at Blue Water Inn

AC did not work properly--barely cooled room enough to sleep. Toilet tended to backup with slow water flow--several flushes needed. We did get clean towels as needed--apparently there was a minimal room service. Floors were clean. Frig and microwave worked. Several electric outlets were nonfunctional. Not at all as depicted in online materials.

Our tv did not work ! We told the desk they said they fixed it they did not . Also the bathroom was running the whole time and the ceiling above the staircase to the third floor was leaking heavily . Staff was polite . The room served its purpose but was too small could not even walk in the room. The bed took up whole room

Staff friendly but hotel was terrible

The hotel was very rundown, the toilet had stains inside, the bathroom floor had stains, the blinds were broken, the bathroom curtain was not hanging properly. See pics. The staff was actually very friendly and nice!

Pros: The man who checked us in was very nice. The pool/pool area was nice and clean. Cons: This hotel room was filthy. The bathroom was grimy and definitely had bodily fluid stains around The toilet. Slanted floors. No furniture was attached to the walls, which made me a little nervous as we travelled with two toddlers. Electronic cords hanging around. There was a huge hole above the shower and I could see into the ceiling. Broken blinds. Yikes. Big yikes.

The staff was really polite and helpful. But the room was a little dirty and the bed felt like it had a grim feeling but wasn’t a big deal since we knew to bring sheets. Would stay there again but 100% recommend bring your own sheets and blankets.
