The area has homeless people but once u go to boardwalk it's not bad. It"s not just around this hotel but it's all over. I appreciate the police patrol and watching the areas. Location is very convenient and has many food selections. Staff was helpful. Check in was easy. I would come back to this hotel. Family enjoyed their stay and didn't want to leave. Lot of nice places to take pictures

The only thing I dislike was the stains on the carpet, on the chair and on the runner at the foot of the bed. Other than that, it was a great place.

The rooms are lovely as is the staff! Do not let the exterior fool you, if you’re looking for a good clean place to stay w comfortable beds for an affordable price this is a great option. Everything worked properly and the space was large. While the exterior is quite shabby, it is located near fun casinos (hard rock w in walking distance) , and the beach. Highly recommend for traveler who wants to stay at a nice clean place and save a few dollars.

One of The Top 3 Worst, Terrible, Horrible Stays

From the checking in to the checking out, this hotel sucks. The room was horrendous from no light in the bathroom working except the heating lamp to the paint chipping and plaster falling to roaches to bed sheets with stains and rug apoeared not vacuum. The worst part asked for the room to be cleaned during stay and was told every other day the romm is cleaned

Nice and clean. Parking. Close proximity to the Hard Rock, which was convenient for some live music we were seeing there. A great little family run restaurant around the corner called AC Island, open late night with banging food.

It’s was horrible. It smell horrible in the halls and rooms. Not a safe area. Surround by high drug addicts. Filthy carpets, bugs in the room, and need to be upgraded. Definitely worth less than $220 per night.

Staff was friendly. However, upon ending my first nights stay , I discovered that the bathroom was full of roaches. Also, although I booked a smoking room, you could tell that the room had not been properly cleaned. It smelled like the previous tenants smoke and things hadn’t been cleaned in the room. The curtains had burn holes in them as well. In addition when I checked in the room and inspected, the bathroom had fingernail polish all over the sink and inside the sink. There was also nail polish on the furniture as well. I made a complaint to the front desk, and they changed my room with no argument and hesitation. While they made that change without gruff, it let me know that they knew that the problem of the roaches existed. Also, there was a sewage back up on the same floor the second night that I changed rooms. I feel like this Howard Johnson location should not be renting rooms until they fix the sewage problem, and the roach issue.
