"The Monfeith Hotel is situated off a round about barely 50 yards off the main Arbroath Road. This raised concern for me that it would be noisy, especially since my room was facing the road. This turned out to be wrong as while the hotel's proximity to traffic noise from a main thoroughfare exists, there was very little noise. Perhaps the fact that it's located in a dip, below the highway level, curbs to the noise. I had a peaceful night's sleep and sat out on the lawn in the morning with my cuppa.
The rooms are neat, clean and functional. The bathroom is clean and well maintained. If you're looking for 5 star accomodation, you're in the wrong place. If however, like me you need a comfortable, clean, functional rooms for the night at affordable prices, located close to the main drag and has Costa, McDonalds and the cafe at Dobies, all within 2 minutes walking, then like me, give the usual T-Lodges of this world and stay here.
The staff are very helpful, friendly and do the property proud. There's a large Free car park on the property that can take caravans and even a few Jeep-Trailer combinations. Costa Coffe is half a minute away walking, Macky 2 minutes and Dobbies 5 minutes (all within the same complex. Want a fancy meal, ask the staff for recomendations, take the car in to town less than 10 minutes away.
Worked well for me, on crutches. I'll be returning here again."
