The first thing I would rate about this property is the staff. From the moment we were picked up from the airport by their convenient free shuttle, we felt welcomed and comfortable. On arrival to the manor the great customer service continued. Check in was so easy and our room was warm and spacious. The beds were so comfortable and despite being on a main road it wasn’t particularly noisy either. The following morning my husband got held up at the car hire place when we were due to check out and the staff were so accommodating in allowing us extra time in the room with my children while we waited. We only stayed one night after flying in to Auckland before heading off on our travels but will be staying there again when we return before flying back to Australia and I’m so glad to be going back there again knowing we will be in a comfortable room. There were plenty of cups and plates to suit our large family, a small fridge, microwave, tv and all the essentials we needed. The showers were nice and hot. It was so well priced too. It’s obviously not a brand new hotel so it’s not 5 star luxury but it’s everything you need and most importantly CLEAN and well kept so an absolute 5 stars from me for that. Highly recommend.

The motel is very convenient to the airport.. we had rentals cars, and parking was easy. The motel is convenient to the motor war way to et into Auckland. shops were a short drive.

This motor lodge doesn’t have soundproofing between the rooms and the corridor. Because it’s an airport motel, people arrive and talk loudly in the corridor until the wee small hours of the morning, then the noise starts again at 4am with people leaving to check in at the airport. That said, we couldn’t hear any road noise. I had maybe an hour’s sleep. My daughter slept okay so I guess it comes down to whether you are a light sleeper or not. On the plus side, it’s handy having a free airport shuttle (the pick up from the airport is on demand, but note the return shuttle only departs on the hour). The staff are nice. The room is a decent size and has a good drink nook with its own sink (much better than hotels that make you use the bathroom sink). Our room was largely clean but I can’t give it a perfect cleanliness rating because one of the blankets was dirty and quite obviously hadn’t been washed, and the grouting in the shower was mouldy. Overall I’d class the motor lodge as “ok” but I wouldn’t stay here again because of the sleep factor.

A clean room and great people on staff. A warm welcome and airport pickup. I had issues with the TV but this was sorted quickly and they couldn't do enough. Oakwood is my 'go to' for overnight stays in Auckland both for domestic trips though Auckland and foreign travel. The people make this business. A great team!
