Had everything stated but the property had started to date. The photos didn’t reflect the room we ended up with. It was clean and tidy and was adequate for what we needed. Only interaction with staff was at the end when they had started to clean the room before we had actually checked out (we had gone for breakfast).

The owners were very accommodating. They checked me in a bit early and held my luggage and food until I could check into a different accommodation 400 metres away. They were so nice and accommodating.

-10 out of 5. Paid $250 US. ,440nz. I saw Kelly in town and told him a few things needed. Such as replacing a broken can opener. TP. He says, request coming. Well it never came. We were later told that those items will not be provided. Hum. Ok. Is he scamming his guests? I left a note saying there were safety issues, would Kelly like me to review them. No response. I left a note because the office is never open. I stayed there in December for 15 nights. Saw Kelly for a few minutes the whole time. Smoke alarm had to be reset. Which little 5 foot me, had to climb on a chair and whack it with a broom. Fridge door wouldn't shut because the freezer was caked in ice. Toilet wouldn't stop running. I'm not a complainer. But this was over the top terrible. I have family in waiheke. They told me to not ever stay there again. There are many other options.

I liked the size of it and it has everything for self contained. But it was dirty bathroom, kitchen shelf’s were not cleaned floor in bathroom smelled like urine and stains everywhere. Furniture had thick dust on it. The outside light shined through the glass door we couldn’t get to sleep very well. Kitchen were dirty, drawer were crumbs and in general dirty! Sorry can’t recommend it. It doesn’t take much to clean properly

Hello, my stay overall was very pleasant. There were some problems that I had to deal with as no office personnel were present. I have family that live on waiheke and so it was very convenient to be able to pick me up at the motel. My son and his wife will be expecting their 1 st baby at the end of January. I have already booked a room in late March. Hopefully Kelly can accommodate my wishes as I will be hosting dinners to celebrate the addition to the Wyatt and Ruth Dooley family. Thank you

The room that we stayed in is bit out of date and needs some new things. But, on the other side location is very convenient and overall it is good value for money. This is our second stay in this motel, and it is very likely we will come again.

Disappointing - photos don’t tell full story

Photos of the family unit seemed ok, and at $300 per night we thought that it surely had to be good for that price. The place had a “self service vibe” as we had to pick up a key from a lock box despite arriving at 2pm, and reception was never staffed. The place was dilapidated with bad smells from the kitchen, the fridge and the couch. The carpet was dirty and oily, and the shower was full of black marks on the wall. Bathroom had missing cupboard doors and a hole in the wall covered with tape and painted over (“that’ll fix ‘er”). Lots of locals on the island asked us “is it as bad as everyone says?” so it doesn’t have a good reputation, and we saw several disappointed looking guests walking past our room after just checking in. Google reviews are a bit more honest, but on both sites the owners post defensive replies blaming the guests for the issues. In fact this review will probably get a response from the owners saying “well you didn’t come and raise this with us” - well mate, it’s not our job to monitor the state of cleanliness of your motel. I doubt a carpet cleaner would have turned up at short notice. And in any case, apart from the cleaners who laughed about leaving an element on in a room all night, we only ever saw a staff member hurrying us out at check out time. All told, this and the passive aggressive note on the window at reception (“don’t call us unless it’s urgent”) give out a message that they don’t care about guest experience.

The unit that we stayed in was perfectly clean with modern amenities. It is very close to a nearby shops and market. This was our first stay in this motel, and we will come back again. This motel is now on the top of our list for next visits to Waiheke.
